Spiceworks Sweetens SaaS Management App

Spiceworks wants to help SMBs better stay on top of their managed services with the third version of its free Spiceworks IT Desktop software.
Spiceworks IT Desktop 3.0 includes a software-as-a-service(SaaS) inventory management feature that tracks such items as service cost, related contract dates and outages. The tool also monitors the health and status of up to 250 managed devices, and enables IT managers to view what's going on more quickly via an updated user interface feature called Network Glide.
Austin-based Spiceworks makes its money off ads that appears in its software's management console. A beta version of Spiceworks IT Desktop 3.0 is available for download and is expected to ship by the end of May.
