Asus has unveiled a trio of WiMax-enabled Eee PCs, all of which include Intel's Atom processor, Bluetooth and 802.11n connectivity.
The Eee PC 901, which Asus says will be able to rapidly connect to a WiMax network out of the box, comes with 1 GB of memory, a 20-GB solid-state drive (SSD) for Linux builds, a 12-GB SSD for Windows machines, a 8.9-inch screen and up to six hours of battery life. The Eee PC 1000 model comes with 2 GB of memory, a 40-GB SSD and a 10-inch display. Specs are the same for the 1000(H) models, though the latter has an 80-GB rotating hard drive.
All three models are also equipped with a webcam, high-def audio and a Super Hybrid Engine technology that provides three GUI modes to adjust CPU frequency, voltage and LCD brightness to minimize system noise and power consumption, according to Asus.
