Not surprisingly, there are a lot of interesting mobile applications debuting at DEMO, the emerging tech conference. Some are just cool and fun but some will eventually be the apps that help you run your growing business on the go.

GigaOM's Stacey Higginbotham is at DEMO and she has a list of the 10 mobile app companies showing at the tech conference.

It's a safe bet to assume some of these will become the apps you use on a daily basis to run your growing business. Certainly not WebDiet, which finds nearby healthy food and counts calories. And probably not UbiSafe, which monitors older people and children using GPS.

But MessageSling, which sends voicemail to SMS, email, or the web sounds like a great service and is free on any carrier.

G.ho.st Mobile takes the free virtual g.ho.st desktop and makes it mobile.

Maverick Mobile provides online backup and remote tracking or locking for Nokia phones.

Sky Data send secure data to mobiles from the cloud.

It's questionable whether Xumii, which provides a single sign-in to connect IM, media, and social apps on mobiles, will have business value but that depends on how your growing business uses social networking tools.

But your growing business will use some of the mobile apps to make life on the road more productive. It's time to start checking them out.
