Microsoft, GoDaddy Partner On E-Mail Offering

Posted by Fredric Paul Monday, Oct 6, 2008, 06:53 PM ET

GoDaddy.com is offering small and midsize businesses mobile and group e-mail plans with Microsoft Outlook, powered by Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. The plans, including Personal Outlook, Outlook with Mobile, and Group Outlook with Mobile, are designed to give SMBs the ability to manage all of their online services from one place.

Up till now, Microsoft and domain registrar/hosting giant GoDaddy haven't had much in common -- apart from being the sponsors of two separate series of widely panned television ads: Micosoft's Seinfeld ads for being boring and inscutable and Go Daddy's Superbowl commercials for being too racy. (See below for clips.)

GoDaddy says the offerings let SMBs manage all of their online services--including hosted enterprise-class e-mail, calendar and document sharing, amd mobile access--from GoDaddy.com. The services also include help desk support and ongoing system maintenance -- with no up-front costs. According to GoDaddy, pricing ranges from $6.99/month to $9.99/month for personal plans and $56.99/month for Group Outlook with Mobile.
