bMighty bOptimized: A Deep Dive Into IT Infrastructure

Posted by Fredric Paul Tuesday, Dec 9, 2008, 02:06 PM ET

In today's uncertain times, small and midsize companies need IT infrastructures that are rock solid, ruthlessly efficient, and easily scalable. On Tuesday, December 9, the bMighty bOptimized virtual event will show you how to create just that kind of infrastructure for your business.

Produced in cooperation with InformationWeek, the bMighty bOptimized virtual event is a deep dive on IT infrastructure for small and midsize businesses. We'll help you sort through critical technology and buying choices to build the infrastructure that's right for your organization's needs. We'll cover servers and data centers, virtualization, green tech, cloud computing, mobility, and more.

The whole thing starts at 11am Eastern Time (that's 8am here on the "Left Coast")on Tuesday, December 9, when I host a keynote panel featuring Steve Hilton, vice president of SMB Research at Yankee Group (Steve is also a regular bMighty.com contributor), Michael Dortch, Senior Research Analyst at the Aberdeen Group and Steve McIntosh, CIO & Senior Vice President of Jackson Family Enterprises (the people who bring you Kendall-Jackson wines). You'll learn how to "future-proof" your company's infrastructure, staying flexible to cope with whatever happens next.

Then, at 1pm ET (10am PT), our Green Infrastructure: Good, And Good For You panel, brings together Tom Raftery, Green IT Analyst at Redmonk and Mark Bramfitt, Principal Program Manager, Customer Energy Efficiency at Pacific Gas and Electric, along with representatives of power management companies to discuss how you can maximize your IT operation's power efficiency, to save money while saving the planet. The panel is hosted by bMighty editor Benjamin Tomkins.

At 3pm Eastern (noon Pacific), we look at Infrastructure in the Cloud, with Doug Harr, CIO of Ingres (which runs almost entirely in the cloud) and Alistair Croll, Principal at startup accelerator Rednod and Partner at cutting-edge analyst firm Bitcurrent.

But that's not all! At any time during the day, you can also:
* Download informative research, white papers, and other resources straight to your Virtual Briefcase.
* Interact in our engaging and life-like Virtual Event environment through real-time chat and networking tools.
* Visit vendor booths, browse through products and solutions, and join Q&A sessions in our unique, interactive and entertaining environment.
* Win prizes when you attend and participate in the show – all from the convenience of your desktop!

You can attend right from your desktop and it's free, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, including Platinum Sponsors Symantec and Eaton and Gold Sponsor Thawte. Be sure to check out their sessions throughout the day, as well.

Register now, and we'll see you there.
