Best of lists proliferate the last few weeks of the year. Everyone has their take on what ranks and rates for the past 12 months. In the case of the best business blogs, many are great resources for insights, analysis, and tips that you should add to your RSS feed for the coming year.

But that's what we think. What's they part line from elsewhere? Business Pundit has a list of 50 blogs on its Best Of list. The roster is organized into user-friendly categories and includes some obvious choices such as Freakanomics, TechCrunch, and Duct Tape Marketing, but also shines an overdue spotlight on some less widely known blogs that are worth a visit. Academia may function on a more theoretical plane than many business owners, but that doesn't mean that the ivory tower gang doesn't have valuable insights galore. You can get your fill by perusing the Biz.edu listing of the Best Business Professor Blogs. This listing is also organized by sensible topics such as technology, management, and marketing.

If you want to get into actual awards, there's the 2008 Weblog Awards -- more than 5,000 blog have been nominated for these awards and the finalists will be announced later this week -- including business categories for various size blogs. Stay tuned.
