IBM Rolls Out New Dynamic Infrastructure Offerings For Midsize Companies

IBM Rational AppScan OnDemand, Tivoli Foundations Application Manager, Tivoli Foundations Service Manager, IBM Software Services-Enhanced Technical Support Gateway, and IBM System Storage DS3950 Express are designed to "help midsize businesses reduce cost, improve service and manage risk."

IBM's Rational AppScan OnDemand is Software as a Service (SaaS) product designed to identify and prioritize Web application security and compliance risks. As a SaaS solution, AppScan OnDemand requires no training or in-house security expertise, set-up, or software maintenance expense, IBM said. Basically, users can have IBM's security and compliance product experts remotely and regularly scan their Web sites scanned remotely.

For help with a midsize company's internal operations, IBM Tivoli Foundations Application Manager monitors the performance and availability of midsize companies' IT infrastructure to improves application availability. Meanswhile, IBM Tivoli Foundations Service Manager is an automated help-desk appliance designed to streamline service requests and incident management.

IBM Software Support Services - Enhanced Technical Support - Gateway service (ETS Gateway) is all about providing technical resources to minimize maintenance on IBM Power System, System i, System p, and related operating systems with access to information regarding maintenance, security, and performance. But it won't be available in the United States until March 2010.

In addition to the services, new midmarket products include IBM System Storage DS3950 Express, an 8 GBps Fibre channel mid-tier disk storage system for data-intensive applications. It's available December 4, except in the US, Canada, and China.

The IBM System Storage N3300 Express / N3600 Express now offer greater space and power efficiency and 50% lower TCO.

Finally, the newly enhanced IBM System x3200 M3 Express and IBM System x3250 M3 Express servers become available October 30. Including in the United States!
