Business Book: Guy Kawasaki's "Reality Check"

So many business books publish every year, selecting the best one is daunting. The title making year-end lists everywhere is the latest from Malcolm Gladwell, Outliers. The book has drawn significant criticism, but that's done nothing to slow the Gladwell marketing juggernaut that dates back to the success of his breakout hitThe Tipping Point.

Gladwell has enough press. Instead, our pick for best business book of the year is Guy Kawasaki's Reality Check. Why? First off, Guy gets technology. And, this is really what puts him over the top, he's all about the practical. His book -- and his must-read blog -- are loaded with practical information that you can put into action. If you want to debate an abstraction, Gladwell's your guy, but if you want something that you can put into action tomorrow (or right now), crack open Guy's tome. Here's what passes for criticism about his book:

"Now, there is one problem with the book -- that is, you can't finish reading it easily. You get sort of "stuck" in a good way as there is so much information in each chapter.

Too much information in each chapter -- now there's a problem to embrace. Regular readers of Guy's blog (one of bMighty's Best Blogs For Growing Businesses) may find the content of Reality Check familiar as he's blogged many of the practical ideas for building a successful business that appear in this collection. You may not need the four copies that Seth Godin recommends, but you should at least get one.
