Plan A: Blogging | Plan B: Tweeting

Every company these days needs a blog, right? A place for the CEO to share her wisdom, the marketing directory to roll out clever new campaigns, and to just generally connect with customers and prospects in a folksy, friendly way.

Fortunately, it's fairly easy to find a way to create a blog without dropping a lot of cash (check out Blogger and WordPress), but even a free blog has real costs. For one thing, it takes time and effort for the blogger to come up with enough worthwhile things to say to create regular posts.

If you're too busy to write a blog, Twitter is the perfect Plan B. You can only write 140 characters at a time, for chrissakes! How hard can it be? How long could it take?

Twitter-Friendly Bottom Line: Twitter is faster and easier and "free-er" than a blog. Sure, you can start a company blog if you want, but be sure to give Twitter a whirl (140 characters!).
