While envisaging where the Web -- and its kaleidoscope of related technologies -- is headed on its wild Internet ride can only be speculative, the value -- and possibility -- of understanding in advance the implications, opportunities, and challenges of technology for small and midsize businesses is fundamental to their success, whatever the "final" form of the next Web.
